Terms of Service & Privacy Notice

1. Who this agreement is with

BurnTested ("the Service") is operated by Zovia Fragrances("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

2. Beta software

The Service is in active development and provided free of charge during the beta. Features may change or be removed, the Service may be unavailable at times, and data may be lost. Keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose. We may end the beta or close accounts at any time.

3. Your data, and what is shared

This is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly.

Private to you. Your burn tests, session notes, photos, saved cost recipes, oil inventory, and your private blends — including their names, contents and the fact that they exist. Blends are excluded from all shared data by the design of the database, not merely by a setting.

Shared anonymously.When a completed test is logged, the combination it used — wax, wick series and size, wick count, vessel, and fragrance load — contributes to an anonymous tally alongside other makers' results. A combination only becomes visible to anyone once five different makers have tested it, so no shared result can be traced back to one person. What appears is the combination, how many tests and makers it represents, the pass rate, and the average fragrance load.

Never shared. Your name, email, individual test records, notes, photos, or blends.

By using the Service you grant us permission to include your completed tests in that anonymous aggregate, and to keep the aggregate if you later close your account (it cannot be disentangled once pooled, and it identifies no one).

We use Supabase for data storage and authentication and Vercel for hosting; your data is processed on their infrastructure. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Fragrance safety and IFRA information — important

The Service reproduces usage limits from IFRA conformity certificates published by fragrance suppliers, and records the amendment version and the date we retrieved each document. This information is provided for reference only.

You must verify limits against the supplier's current certificate before making, selling, or labelling any product. Suppliers reformulate, certificates are reissued, and IFRA standards change between amendments. Data here may be out of date or contain errors. Nothing in the Service is safety, regulatory, or legal advice, and you are solely responsible for the compliance and safety of anything you make.

5. Suppliers, brands and trademarks

Zovia Fragrancesis independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any fragrance supplier, retailer, or fragrance house. Product names, supplier names and brand names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify those products factually. Where the Service repeats a manufacturer's own comparison of its product to another fragrance, that is the manufacturer's published statement, not ours.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to break the law, to upload content you have no right to share, to attempt to access other users' data, or to scrape or bulk-extract the catalog. Do not submit documents or data you are not permitted to share.

7. No warranty and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zovia Fragrances is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profit, product, or business arising from your use of the Service — including any product you formulate, make, or sell in reliance on information found here.

8. Closing your account

You may ask us to delete your account and its private contents at any time by emailing info@zoviafragrance.com. Anonymous aggregate results already pooled will remain, as described in section 3.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the substance changes we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. The version in force is shown at the top of this page.
